Are Sandals Resorts for couples only?
Today, I will answer one of my most commonly asked questions. “Are Sandals Resorts for couples only?” Before we start, let me introduce myself. My name is Amy, and I specialize in honeymoon travel. That said, I also book vacations for families, friend trips, and multi-generational travel.
Many travelers consider Sandals Resorts for an adults-only, all-inclusive vacation or honeymoon. A common question that arises is whether Sandals Resorts are exclusively for couples. Let’s clarify this popular misconception.
Couples-Oriented Paradise
Sandals Resorts are famous for their romantic atmosphere, making the resorts a top choice for honeymooners, anniversary celebrations, and couples seeking a dreamy retreat. The resorts are meticulously designed with romance in mind, featuring king-sized beds in all rooms, intimate dining experiences, and many activities tailored for two.

In fact, Sandals Resorts used to market as “couples only.” However, they have dropped this and tend to use “couples-oriented” now. This is purely my opinion, but I believe this is because it was nearly impossible to “enforce” couples only.
Now, Sandals is more like a Secrets resort where it’s more couple-oriented, but other adults may be there for a wedding, friend group, or girls’ trip.
Important note: Almost all of the rooms at Sandals are king beds only! So, if you plan to visit as a non-couple, ensure you’re comfortable with this. If you’re looking to travel with kids, Sandals is strictly adults-only! You can visit Sandal’s sister brand, Beaches, for fun for the entire family! What to Expect at Sandals Resorts
If you choose to stay at Sandals Resorts as a non-couple, be prepared for an environment that enhances romance. You’ll find many “couple-friendly” options, from candlelit dinners on the beach to couples’ massage at the spa.
I’ve had non-couple clients visit Sandals and loved it! So, as long as you’re okay with it being a more romantic-themed resort and don’t mind sharing a king bed with a friend, it can be a great option!
How to hold a room at Sandals for free!
Did you know a Sandals Travel Agent can hold a room at Sandals for free? It’s true!
