The nine best Oahu luaus
“What is the best luau on Oahu?” As a Hawaii Travel Agent, I get this question a lot. Oahu is the most popular island in Hawaii for tourism, and a luau is a bucket-list Hawaii item for almost everyone. It makes sense that you’d want to figure out the best Oahu luau before you go.
I’m also asked if you should book a luau in advance, and the answer is absolutely yes. Luaus on Oahu (or any other island) are very popular, and the best ones do sell out. I always recommend booking your luau at least a month out if you can.

Not surprisingly, Oahu has plenty of options when it comes to luaus. If you’re looking for a great luau on other islands, make sure to check out the best luaus in Hawaii. Here are the nine best luaus in Oahu, in no particular order.
1. Paradise Cove Luau
The Paradise Cove Luau offers three dining packages to suit your preferences. This buffet-style luau features a welcome mai tai for all packages and is one of the highest rates luaus on Oahu. This is one that I recommend to many of my clients!
2. Chief’s Luau
Chief’s Luau is hosted by Chief Sielu, a comedian and world-champion fire-knife dancer. The skills of CHief Sielu make this luau one of the best luaus in Hawaii. You can learn to headband weave, take a hula class, and of course, enjoy the buffet feast.
3. Germaine’s Luau
Germaine’s luau is an authentic ohana (family) luau featuring Hawaiian barbeque. The luau performances include the Samoan Fire-Knife dance and Samoan Slap Dance.

The Ka Wa’a Luau is a family-friendly luau at Disney’s Aulani Resort. You do not have to be a guest of Aulani to attend, but I do think that Aulani is one of the best luxury resorts on Oahu.

Some luaus do not sell tickets to singles. Please include this information in your descriptions. It’s very depressing to look forward to something only to find out I can’t participate because I am a widow traveling alone.
Thank you.
I am sorry to hear that! I have booked luau tickets for singles so I have not seen that in my experience, but I am sorry you ran into that situation!
