Poipu and Koloa are on the sunny southern side of the island. This is where you’ll find many of the Kauai resorts.
The Club at Kukui’ula – Private
This private golf course in Kauai is only open to members and their guests. However, once you obtain an invite, you will have access to the 18-hole course and the clubhouse. This golf course was designed by Tom Weiskopf and offers a few unique challenges.

Kiahuna Golf Club – Public

Po’ipu Bay Golf Course – Resort
The most unique golf course in Kauai is the Po’ipu Bay Golf Course. This stunning course can be found high above the Pacific Ocean. This means the views are incredible. Plus distracting. Hawaiian heiau, ancient stone walls, and sightings of monk seals, whales, and green sea turtles present even more challenges.

Golf Courses in Lihue
Lihue is located on the southeast shore of Kauai and is where you’ll land at the airport. Lihue is also a bit more industrial, and you’ll find stores such as Costco, Target, etc., for everything you need during your Kauai vacation.
Ocean Course at Hokuala – Resort
The Ocean Course at Hokuala has earned Jack Nicklaus Signature Course status. However, that isn’t the only accolade bestowed on this course. As you play, try not to become distracted by all the guava and mango groves you pass through. The groves add a few challenges you may not expect during a round of golf.

Robin Nelson designed this public golf course in Kauai. The Puakea Golf Course is located on what was once a sugar cane plantation. This course is perfect for all skill levels. Simply be aware of the lush foliage, water features, and bunkers, and you may come in at par.

Wailua Golf Course – Public
The first nine holes of this course were created back in the 1930s. The last nine holes were added in 1961 by Toyo Chirai. You will have the choice of playing all 18 holes or playing the last nine during your visit.

This golf course was Robert Trent Jones, Jr’s very first solo design of a course. During your round, you will discover six oceanfront holes and some challenges. The Aloha Spirit is everywhere at Princeville Makai, so luck should be on your side.
