Maui Golf Courses in Lahaina
Here are the best Maui golf courses in Lahaina and the surrounding areas. If you’re staying on the west side of Maui, these golf courses will be closest to you.
Ka’anapali Golf Resort – Resort
The Ka’anapali Golf Resort offers two spectacular golf courses to players like yourself. You can’t go wrong when you play either of the 18 holes. They both offer incredible views that may distract you during your round.
Royal Course
Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the Royal Course at this golf resort. Your putting skills will be put to the test, especially on the 18th hole. That hole is 449 yards but plays longer than it looks.
Don’t worry; you can handle it. Arnold Palmer did. Although, he did say it was the most challenging finishing hole he had ever played.

Kai Course
The Kai Course contains natural canals, lava rock boundaries, and gulches. Add in the native flowers, and you may think you are anywhere but a golf course in Maui. Robin Nelson redesigned this course. His goal was to create a course that has you focusing on your strategy and not your strengths.

Kapalua Golf Club – Resort
There are two majestic golf courses located at the Kapalua Golf Club. It may not be easy to choose between the two. Be prepared to play at both during your Maui vacation.
Bay Course
The Bay Course is a Maui golf course that opened in 1975. Since that time, it has been considered a championship golf course that is beautiful and challenging. This golf course is known for its 17th hole. It is the only hole on the island that is played over the ocean.
Plantation Course
Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw designed this Maui golf course. It was tricky to design, thanks to the slopes of the West Maui Mountains. The elevation changes will keep even a pro golfer on their toes. The good news is the wide fairways and generous greens make it forgiving for any player.

This golf course is full of challenging bunkers and tiered greens. However, it is also the five water features that capture your attention the most.

Waiehu Golf Course – Municipal
This municipal golf course in Maui is the perfect option when you want to stay close to Waiehu. This golf course is right next to Waiehu Beach Park. You can easily combine a round with a little time on the sand. As you play, you will quickly notice Waihe’e Reef in the distance. Don’t let it distract you from your game, or you won’t get par.

The Makena Golf Course is a championship course that is perfect for players of all abilities. The gentle tradewinds will add a slight challenge on certain days. You will also need to be careful of the lava flows, forest remnants, and native wiliwili trees.

Maui Country Club – Private
Maui Country Club may be a private golf course, but you can easily obtain a guest pass for your Maui vacation if you know a member. Of course, you could always join the club too!
This Maui golf course only has nine holes. However, you can play all nine again using a different tee to create an 18-hole game. The prevailing trade winds are what add a challenge to this course. Keep that in mind if the winds blow hard on the day you want to visit.

Blue Course
The Blue Course offers classic island golf to those who book a tee time. The lush tropical landscape does its best to distract you from your game. However, you won’t be fooled by this course that Arthur Jack Snyder designed. You will be more than ready for the coral sand bunkers and sloping fairways.

Robert Trent Jones II designed the Emerald Course. His goal was to make this golf course in Maui perfect for couples and women. This course contains a tropical background. Keep that in mind as you head out on the greens.
