Is Branson the best road trip destination?
2020 has been different than many of us could have ever imagined. Dreams of flying to exotic destinations are, for the most part, put on hold. Many Americans are looking for the best road trip destination for their vacation.
When considering a road trip destination, you might come across Branson, Missouri. So, what makes Branson, MO, a good road trip destination? Let’s check out five reasons why Branson is a great road trip destination.
Is Branson, MO a good road trip destination?
I’ve joked with friends that Branson is a good road trip destination because it’s “in the middle” and “cheap,” but honestly, both of those things are true. Let’s go a bit deeper and see why Branson is the best road trip destination.
1. Branson is centrally located
Branson is accessible by car from almost anywhere in the United States. Believe it or not, visitors from all over the world visit Branson every year. If you do choose to fly, Branson does have an airport, and there are other airports located nearby in Springfield, MO, and Bentonville, AR.
Low-cost airline Frontier flies out of Branson, so depending on where you live, flying into Branson can be a very inexpensive option.

2. Branson offers a great value
Branson also offers excellent value with lodging, food, and attractions less expensive than just about anywhere else. You’ll even be pleasantly surprised by the prices at Branson’s unique theme park, Silver Dollar City.
I have an entire post about things to do at Silver Dollar City, so make sure to check it out.
3. Branson has an abundance of live music
With over 100 shows to choose from, there’s something for just about everyone in Branson. Although many shows appeal to an older crowd, there are new shows every year with a broader audience appeal.
Branson is called the “Live Music Capital of the World.” Honestly, I think Austin, TX, is also the live music capital of the world, but I guess we can have two. 🙂
4. Branson is very family-friendly
Branson is one of the most family-friendly locations in the U.S. Although some call it “Little Las Vegas” or “the Las Vegas of the midwest,” there’s very little sin (or city for that matter) to be found in Branson.
Take a drive down “The Strip” and you’ll see go-karts, family-friendly shows, and dining options for everyone. Of course, there is some adult entertainment if you’re trying to find it, but you won’t see any gambling or all-night parties.

5. Branson has a variety of things to do
When you think of Branson, you may think of country music shows, and yes, Branson has those. However, there’s a lot more to Branson than just shows. Branson is located in a beautiful setting with an abundance of outdoor activities.
If you love hiking, fishing, or water activities, Branson is the perfect road trip destination for you.
