Sandals Resorts Room Categories
You’re planning a Sandals vacation and trying to figure out the Sandals Resort room categories – it can be challenging! Fortunately, today I will do a simple breakdown of the Sandals Resorts room categories.
What makes Sandals Resorts rooms confusing is that there can be many types of rooms within one category. Some resorts have up to 30 different room types – per category!
Fortunately, there are only three category levels that we will discuss today. You may have different rooms or views within these tiers, but the amenities will be roughly the same.
The primary category levels at Sandals are Luxury Level, Club Level, and Butler Level.
If you’d like to see another blog post where I discuss different types of Sandals rooms (there are a lot of them), let me know in the comments below this post! No matter which resort category you choose, make sure to check out Everything You Need to Know About Tipping at Sandals Resorts.
So, how do you choose which room type at Sandals is right for you? It basically comes down to two things, budget and vacation experience. If you have a limited budget, you may opt for the luxury tier. However, that’s okay! Sandals’ “starter” tier far exceeds what you’ll find at most all-inclusive resorts.

Suppose you’re planning an extraordinary trip, such as a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon. In that case, you may want to opt for a more personalized experience with a Club Level or, my personal favorite, Butler level accommodations.
Having a Butler serve a private dinner on your balcony while you watch the sunset and sip champagne sounds pretty incredible to me! First, let’s talk about what is included in all Sandals room categories.
What is included at Sandals Resorts?
Before we get to the Sandals Resorts room categories, let’s talk about what is included in every room at Sandals.
- Airport Transfers
- Free wifi
- Daily housekeeping
- All meals and drinks, including premium alcohol
- A mini-fridge stocked with soda, water, beer, wine, juice, etc.
- Coffee maker
- Luxurious bath amenities
- Water and land sports
- Scuba (if you are certified)
- Daily entertainment
- Hotel amenities include a safe hairdryer, iron and ironing board, TV, etc.
- Insurance** (as of the writing of this blog post)
All Sandals Resort room categories have plenty of included amenities – including free transfers!
If you’re wondering what is not included at Sandals Resorts, I have a blog post about that too!
Sandals Resort room categories
Let’s get into the Sandals Resort room categories starting with Luxury and working our way up to Club and Butler level.
Luxury Level rooms at Sandals Resorts
The luxury tier at Sandals Resorts is the “basic” tier, but don’t worry, there’s nothing basic about it! Luxury rooms will include everything listed above and are the least expensive rooms at Sandals.
If you’re curious which Sandals Resort is the cheapest, I answer that on the blog. Not that Sandals is ever inexpensive, but check out that post if you want to find out where your money can go the furthest.
Most luxury rooms will have a garden view, although all rooms (except the Rondoval swim-up Butler suites) have an ocean view at Sandals South Coast.
One of the most notable differences in Luxury vs. Club or Butler rooms is that Luxury-level rooms do not include room service.
Luxury rooms do not have a special check-in location, and you will check in at the main lobby, where guest services are also located.
Two Sandals Resorts do not offer luxury-level rooms at all. Sandals Royal Plantation (Jamaica) is Sandals only “Butler only” accommodations where every suite has a private Butler. Sandals Emerald Bay (Bahamas) currently only offers Club and Butler-level accommodations.
You can learn more about the Sandals Resort locations and what they offer here. Sandals’ family-friendly brand, Beaches Resorts, also has the same tiers. Check out the Beaches Resorts Locations to learn more.
Even if you don’t have an ocean view, you’re never far from the water at Sandals Resorts!
CLUB-LEVEL rooms at Sandals Resorts
Club Level rooms at Sandals Resorts offer everything included in the Luxury tier and more. The Club level tier includes all-day room service from 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM and special concierge services.
Guests staying in Club-level rooms will begin their stay with a warm/cold towel upon arrival and private check-in at the Club Sandals Lounge. Guests will be escorted to their rooms by a Club Sandals concierge. A Club Sandals concierge can also provide in-room orientation and a private resort tour.
Club Level guests will have access to Club Sandals Concierge for anything you need during your stay and Club Sandals Lounge. Club Sandals Concierge can book activities, dining reservations, spa treatments, etc.
These rooms offer luxurious robes, premium liquor, and upgraded amenities such as tranquility soaking tubs and modern furnishing in some Club-level rooms.
Club Sandals offers special weekly events only for the Club level, including a cocktail party, wine tasting, etc.
The Club Sandals Lounge includes amenities such as:
- Coffee Machines
- Daily newspapers
- Games and books
- iPads with menus for restaurants and weekly activities
- All-Day snacks and pastries
- An exclusive Signature drink along with other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
Those staying in top-tier club rooms also receive BMW round-trip transfers.
Butler Level rooms and Sandals Resorts
Of all the Sandals Resort room categories, Butler is the premium tier. If you are planning a honeymoon, wedding, or another special event and want the best of the best, the Butler tier at Sandals Resorts is for you!
In addition to everything listed in the previous categories, Butler-level guests’ premium amenities begin right when you arrive at your destination. Butler-level guests will receive premium airport transfers and a private check-in upon resort arrival.
The rooms in the Butler category are also the best of the best, with amenities like private pools, larger balconies, sky pools, spa bathrooms, and so much more.
Butler category rooms can include amenities like private pools, modern furnishings, and tranquility soaking tubs. In the case of this suite at Sandals Royal Barbados, you can have all of the above!
Of course, the Butlers themselves are another perk to staying in a Butler level room! If you are concerned about privacy, don’t be. Your Butler will not be with you at all times. However, you will have a phone to reach them if you need anything at all.
Your Butler can unpack your belongings, set up dinner reservations, book appointments and excursions, serve a private dinner or breakfast, escort you to dinner by golf cart, etc.
Is it important to remember that while all Butler rooms receive the same amenities and personalized care, the rooms themselves can vary quite a bit.
Types of Butler suites at Sandals
Sandals Resorts offers swim-up suites, Rondoval cottages, Romeo and Juliet suites, Millionaire Suites, and the popular (and always sold out) overwater bungalows. Only three resorts have these coveted overwater bungalows, so check out “which Sandals Resorts have overwater bungalows?” to find out if it’s a good fit for your vacation.

How are Sandals Butlers trained?
Sandals Butlers are fully trained by the Guild of Professional English Butlers. This organization sets the industry standard for butler training, delivering the best service in the world. Butlers at Sandals train for several weeks and then are required to complete ongoing training while working at Sandals; they really know their stuff!

Sandals Common Butler Requests
According to Sandals, six of the most popular Butler requests include:
- Romantic breakfast in bed. Your Butler will deliver a special meal made just for you and your dietary preferences.
- Poolside/beachside services. Your Butler can reserve a great cabana, and make sure you have all the drinks and snacks you’ll need poolside (or beachside!)
- Booking excursions. As a Sandals Travel Agent, I’ll make sure you have your tours, spa treatment, and more booked ahead of time. However, you can’t book restaurant reservations or tee times until arrival, and your Butler can do those things for you! Of course, they can also book any last-minute excursions and activities.
- Deluxe room service. As I mentioned earlier, all Club Level and Butler Level rooms come with room service. With a Butler, you can get even more! Your Butler can ensure your mini-bar is stocked with your preferences.
- “Wows.” Romantic setup (think rose petals?) Luxurious, relaxing bath? Your Butler can set up all of those things.
- Romantic Dinner Options. At most all-inclusive resorts, you’ll pay extra for a personalized dinner. Not with a Butler! Your Butler can set up a romantic dinner on your balcony or even on the beach.
As you can see, if you have the budget for it, having a Butler suite at Sandals is an incredible experience!
