The best honeymoon resorts in Hawaii
Hawaii is a fantastic place to go for a honeymoon. I compiled this list of the best honeymoon resorts in Hawaii to include something for everyone. If you’re planning a Hawaii honeymoon, there are a few things you should know.
Unlike many resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean, Hawaii does not have many adult-only resort options. Hawaii is very family-friendly, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t a great place for honeymoons.
These resorts on this list are also great for those celebrating anniversaries or just wanting to take a quiet vacation.
Does Hawaii have all-inclusive resorts?
If you’re planning a honeymoon, you may be looking at all-inclusive options. Planning a wedding is hard, so choosing an all-inclusive honeymoon makes things easier.
Many people are also surprised that Hawaii doesn’t have any actual all-inclusive resorts. Although a few resorts offer breakfast or even dinner options, there are no true all-inclusive resorts in Hawaii. The closest you’ll get is the Travaasa, which you’ll see below.

Does Hawaii have adults-only resorts?
When you’re planning a Hawaii honeymoon, an adults-only resort sounds like a great option. Adults-only resorts tend to be quieter and are geared toward adults and not families.
Unfortunately, Hawaii does not have very many adults-only options, either. However, many resorts will have adults-only pools or areas of the resort.
This Hawaii honeymoon resort list does include two adults-only options, and many resorts will adults-only areas and pools, which can be great if you want a quieter setting.
Choosing a pricier resort does not mean that there won’t be children present. Many high-end resorts (such as the Four Seasons or Princeville Resort) are top-rated destinations for families.
The best Honeymoon Resorts on Maui
Hotel Wailea
Hotel Wailea is the only truly adults-only resort in Hawaii. Located on Maui, it’s also the only Relais & Châteaux property in the state of Hawaii. The grounds of the resort are stunning, and the entire resort has a very relaxing atmosphere.
The Hotel Wailea is not directly located on the beach, but it’s just a short trip down the hill to Wailea Beach. Hotel Wailea offers a shuttle service directly to the beach, although it’s an easy walk if you choose to do that.
The hotel is all-suites and has won many awards. It’s one of the best options for honeymooners on Maui.
Andaz Maui at Wailea
Also located in Wailea, the Andaz Maui at Wailea is another popular destination for honeymooners.
This trendy hotel is also one of the most eco-friendly on Maui. Hawaii’s first LEED-certified resort uses recycled materials and composts food waste, among many other things.
The Andaz Maui has an adults-only pool, which is great for honeymoon couples. You can also enjoy four incredible on-site restaurants and enjoy some wine on your private lanai.
Although the Andaz is not adults-only, you’ll find fewer children here as there aren’t as many amenities for families at this resort.
All-inclusive resorts in Hawaii
Travaasa Hana
The Travaasa is also one of the very few Hawaii resorts to offer an all-inclusive option featuring three chef-prepared meals.
Do keep in mind that it isn’t truly all-inclusive as alcohol is not included. The hospitality at the Travaasa can’t be beaten. If you’re looking for “the real Hawaii,” this is it.
Again, this is not an adults-only hotel; there are fewer families here since it is so removed from Maui’s popular areas.
If you’re looking for a unique experience, The Travaasa Hana might be perfect for you. The Travaasa is located in Hana, a popular destination to visit in Maui but a less familiar place to stay.
You are entirely removed from the craziness that might be found at other resort areas, but don’t worry, there’s plenty to do at the Travaasa Hana.
Montage Kapalua Bay
The Montage Kapalua Bay is a 5-star resort located on the West side of Maui. It is located on 24 oceanfront acres.
The premier all-suites resort offers plenty of space along with housekeeping twice a day (yes, twice!) Although you can cook in your suite, the resort provides the excellent restaurants you would expect from a 5-star resort.
You can also enjoy some golf on two nearby golf courses and swim or snorkel in the ocean just a few steps from your room. Like most of the resorts on this list, the Montage Kapalua Bay is not adults-only but does feature an adults-only pool.

The best resorts for honeymoons on Lanai
Four Seasons Lanai
This resort has the luxurious amenities that you would expect from a Four Seasons, along with feeling like you’re in a private tropical paradise. The Four Seasons Lanai is one of the most exclusive resorts in Hawaii.
Although the Four Seasons is kid-friendly, you won’t find as many here due to Lanai’s remote location. The Four Seasons also had two lagoon styles pools; one is adults-only.
If you want to get away from it all, Lanai is a great choice and just a 45-minute ferry ride from Maui.
The best Honeymoon resorts on Kauai
Princeville Resort
Formerly the St. Regis Princeville, the Princeville Resort is one of the most popular resorts on Kauai. Located overlooking Hanalei Bay, the mountain and ocean views are some of the best you’ll find in Hawaii.
The Princeville Resort is located just one mile from Queens Bath and 9 miles from Kilauea Lighthouse. If you want to stay on the North Shore of Kauai, this is the most luxurious option.
Ko’a Kea Hotel & Resort at Poipu Beach
The Ko’a Kea Hotel and Resort is my #1 recommended resort on Kauai’s south shore. Located on beautiful Poipu Beach, Ko’a Kea is the perfect location if you’re worried about the rain on Kauai. It’s almost always dry and sunny on the south shore!
This small boutique hotel is only 20 minutes from the airport, and the beach is perfect for snorkeling. With an onsite restaurant, Red Salt, and a spa, you don’t have to leave the resort if you don’t want to.
Of course, you will want to be able to explore the beauty of Kauai. Check out 25 things to do in Kauai for fun Kauai activities.

The best honeymoon resorts on Oahu
Aulani Resort
Before you think I’ve lost my mind, hear me out! Yes, Aulani is a family-friendly Disney Resort, but it’s almost a popular honeymoon destination!
If you love Disney and Hawaii, Aulani might be an excellent place for your honeymoon. Aulani Resort has done a fantastic job of infusing Disney magic into an authentically Hawaiian resort.
The months of May and September are great times to visit Aulani since many children are finishing or just starting school.
These are also prime wedding months, so it all works out! Yes, there will be children at Aulani no matter what, but they have adults-only pools and an incredible spa.
Aulani also has a saltwater lagoon with plenty of fish if snorkeling sounds fun, but you’re not ready to snorkel in open water. Check current pricing for Disney’s Aulani Resort here.
Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina
Located right next to Aulani Resort is the luxurious Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina. If you want to honeymoon on Oahu but stay away from the business of Waikiki, the Ko Olina resort area is a great option.
You probably already know that you’ll experience world-class service at the Four Seasons. Three Four Seasons resorts made these ten best honeymoon resorts in Hawaii list!
The beautiful adults-only infinity pool has butler service, and the restaurants at the Four Seasons Ko Olina are highly rated.
As a bonus, you can visit Aulani from the Four Seasons (and vice versa) if you’d like to check out the restaurants, spa, or shopping!
The Kahala Hotel and Resort
The Kahala Hotel and Resort is one of the best luxury resorts in Oahu. Set on a secluded beach, the resort is just 10-minutes from the shopping and entertainment of Waikiki.
The Kahala Hotel and Resort is a popular option for not only honeymoons but also destination weddings. The resort has four popular restaurants, and The Kahala Spa boasts a suite of nine spacious treatment rooms.
ESPACIO The Jewel of Waikiki
If you want your Hawaii honeymoon to be the best of the best and in Waikiki, ESPACIO The Jewel of Waikiki may be the place for you.
Steps from the famous Waikiki Beach, ESPACIO The Jewel of Waikiki offers all-suite accommodations and exclusive and elite services.
Sevices include the use of luxury vehicles, airport transfers, butler and concierge services, a roof-top infinity pool, and more.

Honeymoon Resorts on the Big Island
Four Seasons Hualalai
Moving on to my favorite island, the Big Island of Hawaii. And, of course, another Four Seasons Resort.
The Four Seasons Hualalai is one of the highest-rated resorts in all of Hawaii and was recently named the “Best Resort in the U.S.” by the U.S. News & World Report.
The Four Seasons has an award-winning golf course, seven pools, and the only Forbes Five Star and AAA Five Diamond Rated Resort in Hawaii.
One of the best parts of the resort is the cultural center, which has activities and classing featuring Hawaiian culture.
The Fairmont Orchid
The Fairmont Orchid is one of the most popular resorts on the Big Island. It’s a great Big Island honeymoon resort and boasts six restaurants, golf courses, tennis courts, and a spa on 32 oceanfront acres.
Mauna Kea Beach Hotel
The name “Mauna Kea Beach Hotel” doesn’t sound like anything special, but it’s actually one of the best resorts on the Big Island!
Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is home to fantastic golf courses and located on one of the best beaches on the Big Island. This resort also boasts some of the best dining options on the Big Island.
The resort’s Mauna Kea Spa by Mandara is definitely worth a mention as well.
