Everything You Need to Know About Sandals Montego Bay
Are you planning an all-inclusive honeymoon or adults-only getaway? You need to check out Sandals Montego Bay. Today I am going to share everything you need to know about Sandals Montego Bay. I have an entire series on this, so make sure to check out everything you need to know about Sandals Ochi and everything you need to know about Sandals South Coast if you’re looking for the perfect Jamaica all-inclusive.
Sandals Montego Bay is a five-star resort. It is modern, luxurious, and romantic and offers relaxation and adventure.
Today I will share everything you need to know about Sandals Montego Bay.
Everything You Need to Know About Sandals Montego Bay
Sandals Montego Bay is unsurprisingly located in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The resort sits on a private beach composed of sparkling white sand. The offshore reef ensures calm water for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. Sandals Montego Bay also offers a private-offshore island.
This Sandals Resort was the first Sandals and is known as the “beachfront resort where the party never stops.” If a lively resort is what you’re looking for, Sandals Montego Bay fits the bill! If proximity to the airport is essential to you (more time at the resort!) Sandals Montego Bay is a great fit.
The best part about staying at Sandals Montego Bay is you have exclusive privileges over at the other Sandals Resorts in Jamaica. That means six (soon to be seven) resorts for the price of one! However, realistically the other resort that you’ll visit will be Sandals Royal Caribbean because it’s nearby.
You can read about all of the Sandals Resorts in Jamaica in my post that compares all of the resorts.
Accommodations at Sandals Montego Bay
There are 264 rooms in 28 room categories available at Sandals Montego Bay. Those accommodations include everything from spacious rooms and suites. Some even offer Butler services and swim-up pools.
If you want to understand the accommodation types at Sandals Resorts better, check out Sandals Resort Room Categories – Luxury vs. Club vs. Butler,
My favorite accommodation at Sandals Montego Bay is the beachfront swim-up millionaire one-bedroom butler suite with a patio and tranquility soaking tub. You don’t need to be an actual millionaire to stay in this suite. But you will feel like one when you do!
We all need to be pampered while on vacation. And your own personal butler will ensure you are when you stay in this suite. Add in the fact you don’t need to go far to access a pool or soaking tub and you will thoroughly enjoy every minute of your vacation.
You have options if you want to skip the butler service but don’t want to lose the pool. The Crystal Lagoon swim-up Club Elite luxury room with patio and tranquility soaking tub will meet your needs.
You can relax in your private oasis. You can swim whenever your heart desires. And you can leave your room and venture through the rest of the resort only if you feel like it.
Curious about tipping at Sandals? It’s forbidden in most cases! Everything You Need to Know About Tipping at Sandals Resorts will give you all the information!
More accommodations at Sandals Montego Bay
The Caribbean Sea and the beach will only be steps away from your room when you stay in a beachfront one-bedroom. The walkout rooms are the best because you can have your toes in the sand in seconds. And yet, you still have the privacy you crave on your romantic vacation in Jamaica.
Of course, I know everyone doesn’t spend every second in their room while on vacation. You may be fine with a room like the Caribbean deluxe in those instances. These rooms overlook either the tropical gardens or the pool.
They are spacious, quiet, and have all the amenities you require when away from home. They are also the perfect spot to get a good night’s sleep in between all your adventures.

Restaurants Sandals Montego Bay
Sandals Montego Bay offers twelve restaurants and several bars including a swim-up bar and Latitudes Overwater Bar.
Bayside Restaurant
Bayside Restaurant is an excellent option if you want to dine outside while looking out at the water. This restaurant serves international cuisine. During breakfast and lunch, everything is served buffet style. Dinnertime brings out the menus, so you can enjoy made-to-order meals.
Oleander
Jamaican cuisine fills the menu at Oleander. You must have a reservation to dine at this restaurant. It only seats 42 guests at a time. This is where having a butler suite can be helpful. Your butler can make reservations for you.
Cucina Romana
It is all about Italian cuisine at Cucina Romana. The chef moved to Jamaica from Italy back in 2011 and he brought his favorite dishes with him. Fresh ingredients are used in dishes like lasagna napoletana and fettuccine alfredo.
Tokyo Jo’s
Tokyo Jo’s is the place to go when you are craving Pan-Asian foods with a twist from the Caribbean.
Stewfish
Caribbean and Jamaican seafood are plentiful when you dine at Stewfish. The Jamaican pepper shrimp, lobster bouillabaisse, and West Indies pepperpot soup are all favorites. Grab dinner at this Sandals restaurant and then take a long walk along the beach at sunset.
The Cricketer Pint
Transport yourself to England and dine on pub fare at The Cricketers Pint. Bangers and mash, fish and chips, and Shepherd’s pie are only a few of the dishes waiting for you. Along with a pint or two!
Dino’s Pizzeria
Finding excellent pizza on vacation is not always easy. Dino’s Pizzeria has you covered though. Order your favorite wood-fired pizza or try a new topping for something different.
The Mariner Seaside Bar and Grill
The Mariner Seaside Bar and Grill is a wonderful location for happy hour. This restaurant is only steps from the beach. So, after a day at the beach, wander over for drinks and eventually a meal. They serve classic comfort foods along with a couple of local favorites.
Cafe De Paris
Cafe de Paris (pronounced “pa-ree”) is the go-to place for breakfast at Sandals Montego Bay. They have coffee, pastries, and crepes. If you don’t want to do the sit-down breakfast option, this restaurant has you covered.
The Jerk Shack
You will find Jerk-style cuisine when you dine at The Jerk Shack. This is as close to local Jamaican cuisine as you will get while at this resort.
Butch’s Steak and Seafood
You won’t have difficulty dining on steak and seafood at Sandals Montego Bay. Butch’s Steak and Seafood has everything you want and then some.
Soy Sushi Bar
Soy Sushi Bar has too many sushi meals to count. You can order your favorite sushi or try something new. I recommend dining out by the fire pits one night. It will add a little extra romance to your evening.
If these restaurants are not enough, you can always dine at any of the nine restaurants at the nearby Sandals Royal Caribbean.
Activities at Sandals Montego Bay
When it comes to things to do at Sandals Montego Bay, you are going to have plenty of options. Most of them are even included in your stay!
Out in the water, you can scuba dive, snorkel, kayak, or swim. You may even want to try out the Hobie Cats or a sailboat for a new adventure.
It will always be about beach volleyball, tennis, shuffleboard, and croquet on land. The resort even has board games you can check out for those nights spent in your room.
Entertainment is plentiful at Sandals Montego Bay. You can join the parties on the beach or by the pool. Just don’t forget to check out the live entertainment happening throughout the day and long into the night.
The fitness center will allow you to get your workouts in. And if this isn’t enough for you, head to the nearby Sandals Resort to enjoy the fun there.

A few activities are not included in your stay at Sandals Montego Bay. The Red Lane Spa, shopping at the resort boutiques, and outside tours are all extra. Wish I had known you could use a travel agent to book at sandals. We booked a 6 night stay directly with sandals and I wonder if we would have gotten a better deal. I’m sure we will book again so I will definitely keep you in mind.
The article was very helpful.
Hi Marilyn,
Sandals regulates their pricing, so it likely would be the same, although we do know of any current promos and will always make sure to apply them! That said, there’s still a lot of value in working with an agent, so I’d love to talk to you next time! Here’s a pro tip, you can get a discount if you book while you’re at Sandals and then let me know and transfer the booking to me so I can help with details, but still keep that exclusive rate you get for booking while at Sandals.
