Two Amazing Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas
So you’re here because you’re looking for Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas. You’re in luck because Sandals has not one but two incredible resorts in the Bahamas!
Are you currently looking to plan an incredible honeymoon or vacation somewhere warm and sunny? If you are looking for a destination with soft sand, sparkling ocean water, and warm weather all year long, you shouldn’t look any further than the Bahamas!
Before you head to the Bahamas, make sure to check out Everything You Need to Know About Tipping at Sandals Resorts.
This area in the Caribbean is known for fabulous honeymoons and vacations. Especially if you choose to stay at one of the two Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas. These luxurious accommodations will have you yearning to extend your holiday, or maybe not even return home at all.
Many people ask, and no, there are no Sandals Resorts locations in the US or Mexico. However, the two Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas are a very close flight for most of the continental United States!
Check out my post with all the Sandals Resorts locations to learn where the other resorts are located in the Caribbean.
The Two Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas
The two Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas include Sandals Royal Bahamian and Sandals Emerald Bay. Each one offers the all-inclusive features Sandals is known for and excellent customer service.
And yet, each one of these Bahamas all-inclusive adults-only resorts offer unique features the other one does not.
So, how are you to choose which one of the Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas is best for your next vacation?? Well, with a bit of help from me, of course! I always recommend you work with a travel advisor (like myself) when planning vacations.
You can always check pricing on Sandals website and even use their handy tool to compare the resorts even further.
A private pool AND a Tranquility soaking tub?! What more could you ask for? Oh, this room comes with a Butler too!
Travel advisors can make sure you are not only staying in the best resorts, but they can also make sure you experience the best attractions, tours, and even the ambiance of a destination. You might wonder if you need a Travel Agent for Sandals Resorts, and the answer is yes!
Working with a Travel Agent is truly a VIP experience where you don’t have to worry about anything. I can book spa appointments and excursions, but most importantly, if a problem arises and you need to reschedule, I can handle that. Make sure to contact me to learn more.
Location of the Two Bahamas Sandals Resorts
Most people will automatically believe that the two Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas are on the same island. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth!
Sandals Royal Bahamian can be found in the capital of Nassau, which is on New Providence Island. Sandals Emerald Bay is located in George Town on the island of Great Exuma.
If you want to vacation as close to home as possible, then a trip to New Providence Island is the better option. This island is closer to the US than most other islands in the Bahamas.
What is the closest Sandals Resort to the US?
That means the Sandals Resort closest to the US is the Sandals Royal Bahamian. The airport in Nassau is only approximately five miles from this resort. Quite helpful when you are ready to relax in the sand right after getting off the plane! It is also quite close to many of the popular local attractions.
As for Sandals Emerald Bay, you will also find yourself near many local attractions. Although, it will take you longer to reach this resort due to the distance from the mainland. So, you must plan for a longer flight. And a little delay to your time at the beach.
You might find the flight to Great Exuma worth it when you learn that this is the island in the Bahamas where you can swim with pigs!
Both Bahamas resorts are located on the beach, so you will never need to venture too far from your room for a swim or walk along the shoreline. When you are ready to explore immediately after dropping your luggage in your suite, this is excellent news.
Style of the Two Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas
European sophistication is everywhere at the Sandals Royal Bahamian. The Balmoral Club has been carefully preserved to ensure history is never forgotten. British High Tea is a tradition still held each day. And at night, this Bahamas all-inclusive adults-only resort transforms to include a party vibe.
Over at Sandals Emerald Bay, privacy and tranquility are what you will find the most at this Bahamian-inspired resort. Modern features can be found throughout this resort in the Bahamas. And it all blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings on the island.
If you don’t like the look of some of the Sandals Resorts (particularly those in Jamaica with the traditional mahogany and large furniture), you will be delighted to know that both Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas have a more modern look, at least in some of their room options.
Guest Rooms and Suites at Sandals Resorts
At Sandals Royal Bahamian, you will choose between luxurious rooms, suites, and even villas if you choose to stay at the Island Village. Depending on which accommodations you prefer, you may look out towards the ocean, pool, or tropical gardens.
A few suites offer a private balcony or patio, while others offer a private plunge pool or swim-up pool. You may even want to reserve a suite that has a tranquility-soaking tub.
Are you looking for a modern room? Look no further than Royal Bahamian!
There really isn’t a bad place to lay your head at night at any of the Sandals Resorts. However, the choice you make will determine how much time you spend near your room compared to the rest of the resort.
The rooms, suites, and villas are similar at Sandals Emerald Bay. There isn’t a swim-up pool or tranquility soaking tub at any accommodations, but you may reserve a room with a private pool.
The villa suites are the largest accommodations at this Bahamas resort, so if you know you need lots of space for your romantic vacation, keep that in mind.
Food and Drinks at Sandals Resorts
Food and drinks are all included in your stay when you vacation at one of the Sandals Resorts in the Bahamas. That is the easy part. The tricky part is deciding where you want to eat each meal.
Yes, it may seem simple enough in the beginning. Choose one restaurant for each meal and rotate until you have enjoyed them all. The difficulty lies when you enjoy a meal so much you want to return to that restaurant before going anywhere else!
There are ten specialty restaurants at Sandals Royal Bahamian. Each restaurant serves different cuisine, but you will always find exactly what you desire.
You may be eating Italian or Korean one night, while another night will have you indulging in burgers or seafood. And once you include the food trucks, you can add in local cuisine and a few sweet treats.
There aren’t any food trucks at Sandals Emerald Bay. But you will find eleven different restaurants for your dining pleasure. Before devouring seafood, Italian, or a few Parisian delights, you may decide to begin your food journey at the English pub. And don’t forget about afternoon tea!
Services and Amenities
When you choose to stay at Sandals Royal Bahamian, you will find yourself in paradise. The two private beaches are perfect for early mornings, relaxing afternoons, or long walks as the sun sets in the distance.
The beach at Emerald Bay is easily one of the best beaches at a Sandals Resort.
You can choose to swim or sit in a lounge chair at the eight pools as you sip a cocktail from the nearby bar. Of course, you won’t need to move to get that cocktail because the pool, or beachside, cocktail service staff will bring them right to you.
The Spa at Sandals Resorts
When you tire of the sun, sand, and water, you might want to take a detour into the spa for a treatment or two. Hey, you may even choose to spend all day being pampered!
Time over at Sandals private island, Sandals Barefoot Cay is also a must when you are vacationing at this Bahamas all-inclusive adults-only resort. Over on the island, you will discover secluded beaches, a Zen garden, and a beach club.
At Sandals Emerald Bay, you can enjoy many of the same services and amenities as Sandals Royal Bahamian. However, instead of spending time on the private island, you will have the chance to play a few rounds of golf.
All the swimming pools are incredible, but a personal favorite is the one that offers a fire pit in the middle. Yes, I know it gets hot down in the Bahamas, but a glowing fire is always welcome during my vacations!

Personal Butler Service
Certain suites and villas at these two Sandals all-inclusive resorts offer personal butler service. Imagine having every whim met while you are enjoying a romantic vacation.
Every butler is trained by the Guild of Professional English Butlers. This means you should expect the same treatment that celebrities, heads of state, and royalty receive from their butlers.
Upon your arrival, your personal butler will offer you cocktails and even a bite to eat. After you have been escorted to your suite, they will provide you with all the information you need to know about the resort. They will also find out your personal preferences and share their cell phone number.
Butlers at Sandals Resorts
During your stay, your butler will arrange all property activities, dinner reservations, tours, and spa treatments. All room service orders will be expedited and they will even bring you lunch or cocktails if you are at the beach or pool.
Your personal Butler can serve a meal right on your balcony or terrace!
And when you are getting ready to leave, your butler will assist with your packing and arrange your transportation back to the airport.
On the day of your departure, your butler will escort you to the club lounge, where your luggage will be waiting. They will then take you to your waiting car for the ride to the airport. And no worries about future stays, because the butler makes notes of all your preferences for your next visit.

Royal Bahamian vs. Emerald Bay
So, which Sandals Resort in the Bahamas is better? Royal Bahamian or Emerald Bay? The choice is really up to you!
If you want a resort that’s just a quick hop away from Florida with modern suite options, swim-up rooms, and soaking tubs, Sandals Royal Bahamian might be perfect for you. Royal Bahamian is a larger resort and has more pools.
If you’re dreaming of a golf resort and don’t mind the extra flight time, or if it’s a bucket list item to swim with the piggies in Exuma, Sandals Emerald Bay is an excellent resort.
Both resorts include incredible amenities, you can’t really go wrong! Neither resort has overwater bungalows, for that, check out which Sandals Resorts have overwater bungalows?
